Belly Dancing originates from the Middle East where it forms an integral part of many family and community celebrations. It is the perfect vehicle for you to explore both your sensual and sexual sides. Belly Dancing breeds confidence in mind and body; improves your posture, balance, flexibility and coordination and provides low impact aerobic exercise. Our instructor, Nadia, captures it perfectly when she says that "gracefulness has no size restriction". Nadia hails from the Lebanon, where belly dancing has been a tradition in her family for generations.

At the end of the 10 week program, participants will have learnt not only the basic steps every belly dancer must know but will also be able to perform three choreographed routines. Why not sign up and experience the mysteries of the Middle East? Although predominately a female dance form, men are also encouraged to enjoy this great work out. Please be advised that pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), our programs and events are considered "Public Events" and that people attending those events do NOT have a "reasonable expectation" of privacy - and their photograph may be taken. Accordingly, the Burnewood Community League is not required to obtain verbal or written permission from those persons we take photographs of, or from parents or guardians of children we take photographs of. However, be advised that it is Burnewood Community League practice and policy to immediately remove any picture of any person who requests that their picture be removed. This may include a parent or legal guardian making this request of their child's photograph.
