The Spirit of Burnewood Sponsorship Program

Burnewood Community’s motto is “Life is Good in Burnewood” and it’s hard for the majority of us to disagree with this statement.  We have great schools, plenty of green space for recreation and a strong community spirit that provides a safe environment for our children to thrive in.  There are still some opportunities, however, that are beyond the reach of some of our families.  We believe that every child should have the opportunity to have a healthy and active life!  To help achieve this goal, the League has established a Program Sponsorship Initiative called the “Spirit of Burnewood”.  This initiative will allow children from families who have limited financial resources to participate in sports and recreational activities.

The scope of this program will initially be limited to programs run by the League.  These programs include art, basketball, computer, karate do, art, filmi dance, Rhythm Rhyme and Story Time and/or Sportball.  If there is another  program with which you may need help, don't hesitate to discuss the matter with our president, Rocky Hanson.

This initiative will provide free registrations in the childrens programs highlighted above.  To quality children must be 18 years of age or under and a resident of Burnewood.   Asking for help is sometimes hard so our aim is to make the registration process as unintrusive as possible.  Burnewood Community League reserves the right to refuse an application without explanation and without recourse.

If you would like to take advantage of this program please contact Rocky Hanson @ pres@burnewood.ca , or  by mail at 4118 – 41 Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T6L 5Y6.

“Together we can make a difference in a child’s life.”
